Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Growing up and being raised in California, USA, she made her debut in modeling in Italy. The actress made her debut at the age of 16 in the TV film "Her Costly Love". Her struggle was to find a role as a star as a character in Starship Troopers, despite having starred in many movies. It was difficult when she had to change from modeling to acting since the models were not believed to be actors, and they were usually assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy never gave up. She was able to surpass her roles from the 1970's series as well as the movie Varsity Blues. In 2005 she took her role as lead actress in the romantic comedy 'Just friends'.
